This muscular vintage pickup produces a sound with a big girth and slightly softer highs; it's great for blues. You'll love the boxing glove attack and low-note growl factor; but it loses that nasty, jagged ice-pick-in-the-ear annoyance that makes your ears hurt. It has quite a percussive feel. It doesn't matter if your playing style is slow and soulful, fast and furious, bluesy, rock or virtuoso, the Blues-Jag will satisfy all kinds including demanding overdrive players. The Blues-Jag is very responsive and is a very versatile pickup for blues as well as other types of music!!
The Jaguar® for Blues is like the Impersonator 54 Strat® pickup but because Jags have a shorter scale length the sound will be deeper, more throaty.
IMPORTANT info for you: Jaguars short scale results in lower string tension which produces more string crash and pitch warble, however Kinman's proprietary Alnico-K* low strength magnets reduce string crash and buzz as well as allow longer sustain and minimize pitch warble.
Balanced G string loudness, no Ice-pick.
Now includes 2 of specially made replica mounting screws.
* Alnico-K is a unique proprietary rod magnet developed by Kinman in 1985. It is Alnico-5 but has 40% less string pull than Alnico-5 so sustain is longer and there is much less clatter from string crash and no Strat-itis string warble.
